People are often confused and unfamiliar with the use of FTP. It’s actually quite simple, and is a very effective way of transferring files across the net. Here is a quick step-by-step guide to the use of FTP with our service:
- If you are interested in getting your tracks mastered at Earwax Audio Mastering, please start by sending an email alerting us of your interest. You will then be offered the option of transferring via FTP.
- Should you choose to use FTP, you will be sent your FTP details which will consist of a user name, password, host name, and port number. (our host name is always ftp.earwaxaudio.com and the port number is always 21) These details will give you access to a folder on our server.
- The folder can be accessed using a free FTP client such as FileZilla. Please download and install the application (not the server version, the client version).
- Within the application you will see fields at the top which you simply fill with the details you were provided with. Hit enter and you will have access to the folder! (within the window pane named ‘remote site’)
- Files can be copy & pasted or dragged & dropped into the window. It’s as easy as that!
- When you are finished uploading the files, please get in touch to confirm that you are done and work will begin asap.
